My rad parents brought me into this world during the sweet month of May in 1990, gracing me with an awkward sense of style, horrible timing and the name of Rachel Eisenmann. I obsessed over the music videos for Peter Gabriel’s Sledgehammer and A-Ha’s Take On Me, everything Spice Girls and spending time in the woods.
My art, inspiration and attention span is usually a tad sporadic however my love of peppermint ice cream, saltine crackers and apples is as steady as can be. I never blend my flavors, but often mix my mediums and experiment with different surfaces.
I practice my patience by the act of watering down my acrylics to use them as washes, requiring many layers of my dirtied paint-water and literally watching paint dry.
On the nights that I can’t sleep (probably because I decided that a medium dark roast at 9:30 pm wasn’t the worst idea I’ve ever had), I usually find myself wanting to create.
Most of these late nights, I think about the beautiful miracles we experience, along with the heartache life throws our way.
Its okay to be happy and its okay to be sad.
My paintings are what I work on when I need to express all the emotions that I am grateful to feel. I hope this helps lead you to what assists you in expressing yours. ️
